Africa Oil & Gas: Uganda to Promote Its 2015 Licensing Round on May 26, 27

Those firms interested in picking up acreage in Uganda will get a chance to peruse the government’s information on the country’s first competitive licensing round at an event put on in London. The government will promote the licensing round at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in London at the 12^thAfrica Independents Forum 2015 May 26 and 27.  

The event is a joint venture between ITE Group Plc and Global Pacific & Partners; it gathers players from across Africa, including key financial markets, equity financiers and investors.

The round is made up of six blocks in the Albertine Graben, which is a proven prospective sedimentary basin. Irene Muloni, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development said, “We have an estimated 6.5 billion barrels of in place petroleum resources from exploration work in less than 40% in the Albertine Graben. However, less than 10% of the Albertine Graben is currently licensed and the six blocks targeted for this maiden licensing round have good data coverage.”
