Mozambique Mining: Beacon Hill Resources takes delivery of rolling stock to export Moatize coal

The 90 rail trucks leased by British company Beacon Hill Resources to transport coal mined in Tete, Mozambique, are expected to go into service soon, the company said.

According to a statement from Beacon Hill, the trucks are expected to go into use after they are released by customs. They arrived at the port of Beira, in Mozambique on 7 March and have already been inspected by technical staff from start port and rail manager Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM).

Beacon Hill Resources, which is represented in Mozambique by Minas de Moatize, Lda., also announced that five locomotives had already been attributed serial numbers by CFM, and were also expected to arrive in the port of Beira in the first few days of April.

“Receiving the rolling stock is an important moment as it allows us to demonstrate our capacity to export coal and our firm commitment to investing in Mozambique,” said Rowan Karstel, the Beacon Hill Resources chief executive.
