Africa Oil & Gas: Saipem awarded LOI for new Zohr field contract in Egypt

Saipem and Petrobel have negotiated an offshore contract addendum worth more than 1.2 billion USD for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) activities in relation to the ‘Ramp Up to Plateau’ phase of the ‘supergiant’ Zohr Field Development Project situated in the Mediterranean Sea off the Egyptian coast.

Africa Oil & Gas: Eni concludes Egypt Zohr’s 10% stake sale to Mubadala Petroleum

Italian producer Eni has finalised the sale of a 10% stake in the Shorouk concession, home to the giant Zohr field, to Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Petroleum, it said June 20. That leaves Eni with exactly half, and Russian Rosneft with 30% and the UK major BP  with 10%, as they had before.

Africa Oil & Gas: Egypt to Stop LNG Imports in 2018

Will Egypt see its import of LNG end in the near future? According to the country’s petroleum minister, Tarek El Molla, it will. The minister said that imports of LNG should end in 2018 and Egypt may eventually restart gas exports, once the Zohr gas development starts production.
