Africa Mining: Zimplats profit rises on higher 4E output

Impala Platinum (Implats) subsidiary Zimplats has reported a 4% increase in platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold (4E) tonnes mined to 1.6-million tonnes and a 6% increase in tonnes milled to 1.67-million for the quarter ended September 30.

Impala Platinum (JSE:IMP), the world’s No. 2 producer of the metal, said on Wednesday it had resolved a long-standing legal dispute with Zimbabwe by agreeing to give up almost half of its mining land to the government.
