Africa Energy: AfDB Connects Guinea and Mali via high-voltage power line

The AfDB released more than €71 million in funding for the construction of a 714-km high-voltage power line. The infrastructure will link the localities of N’Zérékoré, in Guinea and Sanankoroba, Mali. Its implementation will allow the electrification of 201 villages as well as the improvement of the quality of service provided to other consumers.

Some argue it was due to bad results, but to true is that Augusto de Sousa Fernando is no longer the CEO of the state company Electricity of Mozambique (EDM). The newspaper “O Pais” reports in its edition of Wednesday 1st September that the electrical engineer was dismissed later Tuesday by the Cabinet and replaced by Gildo Sibumbe, previously Administrator of the Technical Portfolio of Cahora Bassa Dam (HCB).
