Global Markets: LNG prices rise as heat grips Japan

Reuters are reporting that Asian spot LNG prices rose this week as a heatwave gripped Japan and high temperatures swept across South Korea and parts of China boosting cooling demand though relief is set to come from new Russian supplies.

Prices of spot liquefied natural gas for April delivery to northeast Asia continued their downward slide, falling 59.8% year over year to average $7.279 per million British thermal units, according to the latest Platts Japan/Korea Marker data for month-ahead delivery.
