Global Exploration & Production: Vale reports record production of iron ore in Q3

Vale produced 85.731 million tons of iron ore in the third quarter this year, up 3.1% over the same period last year, and 7.9% compared to the previous quarter. The volume, which excludes the production of Samarco, was the best performance in the history of . Global Mining: Vale secures environment license for Carajas mine expansion

Brazil’s Vale, the world’s largest iron-ore miner, secured a preliminary licence to expand its flagship Carajas mine, in the northern state of Para, which should help the company win a bigger slice of the sea-borne iron-ore market.
