BSG Resources owner Beny Steinmetz, who was arrested in Israel last month on suspicion of bribing government officials in Guinea in order to obtain mining rights over the vast Simandou iron ore project, is now free.

Israeli police have arrested diamond tycoon Beny Steinmetz, the owner of BSG Resources, on suspicion of bribing government officials in Guinea in order to obtain mining rights over the vast Simandou iron ore project.

Global Markets: Vale transfers stake in Simandou joint venture to BSGR

Vale transferred to BSG Resources (BSGR) the shareholding held in the VGB, a joint venture created with the BSGR to develop an iron ore project in Simandou, Guinea. According to Vale, the transfer of participation does not mean any waiver of Vale´s right to charge BSGR for the loss of investment in the partnership.
