President Nyusi met the vice-president of Anadarko in New York on Monday afternoon. The President told Notícias that he had received assurances about the importance the company places on its Rovuma Basin project, as evidenced by the high-level missions it will be sending to assess the progress of the project shortly.
“We had a productive meeting. I think, for good business, dialogue is key. Mozambique will continue to help Andarko find a market to sell this gas. We are working with Japan, Indonesia, the UK, China, the Netherlands and other countries, all in search of a market to make the project viable. We talked about the need for training to ensure the future of the initiative, but we also discussed with Anadarko how we can take advantage of its image as the visible face of cooperation between our country and the United States during the US-Africa business summit in Maputo next year,” the President said.
