Africa Oil & Gas: Angola’s Sonangol confirms international tender for fuel supply

Angolan state oil company Sonangol will launch a public procurement process for the supply of gasoline, diesel and shipping diesel, to supply the Angolan domestic market, according to a statement issued on Tuesday in Luanda.
The statement said the contract will be signed by Sonangol Logística Lda, and Sonangol Comercialização Internacional (Sonaci) Lda is responsible for the management of the public procurement process, as an agent of the Sonangol group for the trade and promotion of crude oil and its derivatives.
The type of procedure adopted – an invitation to tender – is due to the urgency of ensuring timely delivery from the second quarter of 2018, and began on 17 January when invitations were sent out for proposals to be submitted by 31 January.
Sonangol invited international oil companies with refineries and suppliers of international repute, which had previously been analysed internally by Sonangol, to respond to the demanding and highly complex specifications of the public procurement process.
The three most competitive proposals will be selected for a negotiation phase, prior to the award decision, which is expected to be completed by mid-February.
Sonangol, founded in 1976, is the exclusive concessionaire for the exploration of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons in Angola. (macauhub)
