Africa Oil & Gas: Angola LNG, Vitol ink multi-year supply deal
Chevron-led Angola LNG, the country’s only liquefied natural gas producer, has entered into a multi-year sales deal with trading house Vitol.
Under the agreement, Angola LNG cargoes will be delivered to Vitol at destinations around the world, the producer said in a statement on Friday.
“This sales agreement is an important step for Angola LNG and demonstrates our ability to respond to the needs of our customers and the market. Vitol has already purchased many LNG cargoes from Angola LNG, and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship,” Artur Pereira, Chief Executive Officer of Angola LNG Marketing Ltd said.
The $10 billion Angola LNG project includes a liquefaction plant located in Soyo that is able to produce 5.2 million tons per year of the chilled fuel.
Angola LNG is a joint venture between Sonangol (22.8%), Chevron (36.4%), BP (13.6%), Eni (13.6%), and Total (13.6%).
