Africa Oil & Gas: “Niger R3 License Area 3D Seismic Completed” – Savannah

One of the producing Songo Songo gas wells, with Orca Exploration seismic programme survey vessel Geomariner in background.Niger-focused energy firm Savannah Petroleum plc announced Tuesday that the 3D seismic acquisition over a 300 square mile portion of the R3 license area has been completed, approximately two weeks ahead of schedule and on budget, according to Rigzone reports.

The data acquired will now be processed and interpreted, according to Savannah, with further updates being provided in due course.

“I would like to thank the Savannah operational team and our contractor, BGP Niger SARL, for their hard work and efforts in safe and successful delivery of this large 3D seismic survey,” Andrew Knott, CEO of Savannah Petroleum, said.

“With this now complete, we look forward with great excitement to moving into the drilling operations phase on our Niger project,” he added.(source: rigzone)
