Despite reports that made the rounds in mid-April, Anadarko Petroleum is not considering a sale of its stake in Mozambique. The company’s CEO, Al Walker, denied plans to sell during an earnings conference and instead said the company is working toward a FID on the LNG project for the East African country.
April reports had the US independent considering a sale of up to its full 26.5% stake in Mozambique’s Offshore Area 1 license in the Rovuma Basin. Walker says the company is not in discussions and has not hired a banker to run a sale process.
