Rovuma “World Class” Gas: ENI Invites Tenders for Mozambique FLNG
ENI has invited interested companies to submit design proposals for a potential FLNG plant in Mozambique. A source close to the matter said ENI announced its request for FEED proposals in a local Mozambican newspaper, according to a Reuters report.
ENI, in conjunction with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation are planning an onshore LNG plant for Mozambique, however, the company said earlier this year that it two floating LNG plants for its giant Mamba field with a combined capacity of 10 million tons per annum (mtpa). A FID is expected before the end of 2015, with production start-up due in 2020.
The company does not plan to stop at the two FLNG facilities, planning a third for its Coral field also located in Area 4. A decision is expected by the end of the year.
